The company works closely with other technology innovators to integrate the latest hardware, software, and applications into end-to-end multivendor solutions for diverse markets. In addition, NACR provides opportunities for customers to build their administrative, technical, and applications proficiency by leveraging NACR resources and expertise through the COE.

"At NACR, we know how important training and staff development are to the success of any organization — especially in the area of technology and how to use it effectively to drive strategic business goals," said Dan Gorski, Vice President of Learning and Development at NACR and head of the COE. "So, we continually expand our COE portfolio to add new courses and options that will meet our customers' ongoing and changing need for training."

The NACR COE offers instructor-led, virtual instructor-led, and web-based training, with course paths across topics and for every skill level from beginner to advanced. Instruction is provided by highly credentialed and experienced NACR engineers, technical specialists, and subject matter experts. Currently, the company is pleased to introduce the following courses, which were developed with customer needs in mind:

Avaya Enterprise Session Border Controller (ESBC) Installation and Administration — A Session Border Controller (SBC) is often deployed in a point of demarcation in a VoIP network and is an integral part of network security, Quality of Service (QoS), and admission control mechanisms. Yet, few people know how to properly design and configure SBCs, and training has been scarce — until now.

This three-and-a-half day instructor-led course was created by NACR engineers and training experts to provide detailed, hands-on training on the end-to-end installation and administration of the Avaya ESBC. The lead developer of the course was Dwight Reifsnyder, an NACR Convergence Systems Engineer, mentor, and COE trainer who has worked with converged voice and data networks since the first Avaya VoIP implementation in 2001. (In addition, Reifsnyder will present the workshop "Avaya ESBC Bootcamp" on April 27 at IAUG CONVERGE2014 in Dallas, TX.)

The ESBC course is designed for telecom and IT administrators with some working knowledge of SIP. For more details, click here or visit www.nacr-coelearning.com.

  • Avaya Aura Messaging Webinar — For those who can't travel or take time away from the office, this four-hour instructor-led webinar is jam-packed with information on how to administer, maintain, and do basic troubleshooting on the Avaya Aura Messaging system.

Designed for anyone who is responsible for administering Aura Messaging, the webinar covers everyday tasks associated with subscribers and the basics of the Aura system, as well as how to create caller applications for system auto attendants. • Also coming soon: Avaya Aura Session Manager/System Manager Administration — This four-and-a-half day instructor-led course on the administration, implementation, maintenance and troubleshooting of the Aura system will include installation, architecture, and user management.
